Need to Know !

In the wake of the new era that has dawned with the need to protect “humans from humans”, few traditional customs have never felt more required.

A merciless act of brutality,
Challenged the very existence of humanity,

I feel numb and my heart is broken,
She got for troubling none, death as token.
God’s little angel as she was,
Alarmed us all with a forgotten clause.

A nation where women aren’t respected,
Doom takes over, future fatally infected  !

My country so strange,
My beloved Janmbhumi (Motherland) it had been.
But now I am deeply hurt,
To witness a barbarity never before seen.

Promises & pledges of harmony we take,
Dreamy castles of love and peace we make..

Still.. Into that Hell of Shame my father,
We let our country awake !!

So we live in a world of advancing technology that keeps shrinking the world a bit everyday. Quite a fancy thought. Though distancing people sub consciously seems to be the other side of the coin we don’t look at. Unfortunately, “virtual love” has nearly taken over everybody.

My grandfather still believes what friends “share” are problems, thoughts, moments and happiness. The new age “(Facebook) sharing” that has left the generation swooning over, is still a concept that is ridiculously alien to him.

Mobile phones until some golden years back were only bestowed upon post-schoolers. We had no worries about ‘who & how many’ liked our pictures. Missed calls, messages, orkut, myspace, all were part of a world that started beyond the horizons of XIIth Boards ! The right to earn a mobile phone was to be earned in terms of both marks and age. Come to think of it, those days were pretty amazing.

I am not the lecturing kind of a person who would go lengths about the negative impacts of technology and all. However, one aspect really irks me. In the rush of shrinking this world with technology, aren’t we distancing ourselves with the people we live around?

A recent advertisement by Estee Lauder, an established cosmetics brand, throws some funny light on the same.

Partying these days be like:

Enthusiastic greeting: The 30-second clip begins with the 19-year-old arriving at a friend's house for a party rocking a $1,870 Nour Hammour 'Erin' leather jacket

Completely distracted: Some fans of the commercial commented that it was an accurate depiction of society today

I mean, Seriously ??

We are living in the age of Samsung having more galaxies than the universe.

One coffee shop attracted my attention & admiration, which had put a notice board saying, ‘We don’t offer wi-fi. It would be great if You please enjoy sipping beverage whilst having wonderful & engaging conversations with people around.’

Put your phone away for sometime everyday. Have conversations with your family about the happenings in each of your lives. Meet your friends more often, talk your heart out. This is one magical aspect of the “Social-ness” every human is naturally gifted with. Its one of the rare things that give what you want. Increased happiness & miraculously decreased sorrow.

Such are the acts that give birth to long lasting wonderful memories.

Let humans do the talking now.

Let low batteries do something fruitful for once.
